Every story has a beginning.

Professional Counselling and Psychotherapy Seminars Ireland (PCPSI) has humble beginnings but was conceived as a means to inspire and positively influence counsellors working in Ireland. We always enjoyed keeping up-to-date on exciting new research and developments in Attachment, Addiction,Neuroscience and Trauma. However, to experience exciting new approaches first-hand, one had to attend international seminars by leading experts, which were often too expensive and unpractical for us to travel to.
One evening, we thought to ourselves — ‘why not bring these experts to Ireland’.
Therefore, in 2015 we established PCPSI, an innovative, high-quality seminar series designed to eliminate expensive travel costs to international conferences. In this way, Irish student psychologists and professional counsellors can benefit from one-day seminars led by internationally recognised experts. Our hope going forward is that their inspirational advice and alternative approaches can positively influence your work environment and future career path.

Personal statement:.
I started my career in the Irish Defence Forces, serving in many locations, such as the Lebanon in Western Asia. I served initially in an infantry unit and later as an electronic technician, servicing optical and electronic equipment. It was here that my interest in human relationships developed. During the later stages of my military career, I experienced the positive impact of counselling for the first time; suffice to say I was hooked!
In 2004, I began a personal development course with The Social and Education Project located at Ballincollig, Co. Cork. This was the beginning of an ongoing journey of personal development that ultimately resulted in acquiring many qualifications and work experience in Addiction, Parent Mentoring and Psychotherapy.
I have also qualified as an Internal Family Systems Therapist. Currently, I am participating in a three-year training course with the Somatic Experiencing Institute at Ballycastle, Co. Antrim.
Since leaving the Army I have worked primarily in Addiction; firstly, with Tabor Lodge Residential Treatment Centre and at present with the Cork Local Drugs Task Force. I have a private practice in Counselling/Psychotherapy.
