We at PCPSI are delighted to welcome Dr. Bob Weathers to our audience for the first time. Tying in principles and methods from his recent books on recovery resilience, Dr. Bob Weathers first examines nervous system dysregulation as a significant predisposing factor to increased relapse risk for individuals currently struggling with, or in early recovery from, addictive behaviors. Dr. Weathers explains how nuanced physiological changes that occur in the addictive brain often contribute to increased relapse risk. By means of in-class exercises and interactive learning, he incorporates cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness strategies, along with creative process and relational neuroscience, into a more advanced set of resources to aid in sustained and successful recovery.
